Tiger Woods' Secret Of Success

Anyone wants to know one of Tiger Woods' success secret? Well here it is:

“My parents always told me they loved me every night, every time we said goodbye. That was just something that I was never afraid to go out there and push myself to the limit. And if I failed, so what?
I always had them to pick me up. I think that’s something that not all people have, but I was lucky to have that my entire life.”

I found this on one of my favourite blogs, the Intent Blog
That is the kind of parent I want to be. It doesn't matter that single me has to stand for the plural "parents". I set my mind to do it. And I think every parent should too.

Getting A's and excelling in academics isn't everything. And regardless of how bad things are, YOU as a parent should be there for them, should give them hope that they are really made of good stuff..simply because they are.
"Kaizen" should be the mode here..not "automatic switch mode", expecting them to change in a split second..
and utter only positive loving words to them.
Alway always have open arms for them to fall into..
And never feel too high and mighty to say you are sorry...because parents err too..infact, all the time...

Well you can't rewrite the begining, but you certainly have the chance to make right the end.

I love my kids with all my heart and they are getting better and better every day...

Dear Friend,

Take strength in what Allah has revealed to us.

From where shall we seek guidance?

In the Name of Allah, the Most. Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists).
The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful .
The Only Owner (and the only Ruling judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e the Day of Resurrection)
You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything).
Guide us to the Straight Way.
The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 1, Verses 1-6

Look back to to Story of the Prophet Ibrahim SAW and the fact that he has to leave Hajar and Ismail in nowhere land.

Hajar’s Dependence on Allah

Through the story of Prophet Ibrahim, we see another new kind of dependence on Allah; he will sacrifice without knowing the reason why he has to. In all previous sacrifices that he had to perform, Prophet Ibrahim knew the reasons clearly, and so he succeeded in such cases of sacrificing for the sake of Allah. However, he would still need to sacrifice a few more things to reach that special level in heaven; the 7th highest level.

Hence this time, the Prophet did not understand the reasons behind the sacrifices he had to make. It is as though Allah is telling us to learn from Ibrahim’s example.

Allah (S.W.T.) examined Ibrahim with very hard tests. He married Sarah, and she did not become pregnant for many long years. He returned from Egypt and the King of Egypt gave Sarah gifts, including an Egyptian lady called Hajar. Sarah agreed to let Prophet Ibrahim marry her. After their marriage, Hajar became pregnant and gave birth to a son, Prophet Ismail.

Ibrahim was very happy, as he had a son after 75 years. Hajar, an Egyptian, is Prophet Mohammad’s (P.B.U.H.) grandmother. Our Prophet Mohammad told us to take care of the Egyptians, as they are his relatives.

Later on, both wives were living with their husband Ibrahim in Palestine and something strange happened. Ibrahim was ordered from Allah to take Hajar and Ismail to a deserted place called Makkah, and leave them there while he should return to Palestine. Without any hesitation, Ibrahim accepted Allah’s orders. He took them to the deserted place where there were no plants, no birds and no animals; even the water they had would not last for long. But Allah ordered this, so he must obey and trust Allah. Look at this big sacrifice! Look how he was so obedient to Allah! He left his wife and his son in the desert! So how will they live there? They will depend on Allah. So Hajar asked Ibrahim, calmly and with no trace of panic: "Has Allah (S.W.T.) commanded you to do this, O Ibrahim?" Ibrahim (P.B.U.H.) said, "Yes." Her response reflected her acceptance and optimism: "Then He is not going to abandon us." (Reported by Bukhari)

Ask yourself, how many times have you depended on Allah? How many times have you trusted Him with your words while your heart did not believe? How many of you do not do anything for Islam because you fear for your provisions? How many times have you sacrificed something for Allah’s sake?

Do you see how Hajar summarized the meaning of depending on Allah? So those women who fear that their daughters are old and not yet married, ask them to depend on Allah. Those women who are married and have not been blessed with children yet, depend on Allah. Learn from Hajar.

After a while the water and food supplies finished and even the milk in her breasts dried. So what will this woman do in the desert? Her son is crying from hunger! She ran between two mountains, Al Safa and Al Marwah, seven times, looking for someone to help her. Muslims repeat this act during the pilgrimage, as Allah wanted us to learn to depend on Him and learn that Allah is our Trustee. So that’s Hajar who trusted in ALLAH.

The Rewards for Trusting Allah

Let’s return to Prophet Ibrahim and what he is did after he left Hajar and Ismail. He was talking to Allah, as it comes in Qur’an:

Remember Abraham said: "O my Lord! Make this city one of peace and security: and preserve me and my sons from worshipping idols. [Qur’an 14:35]

See how Prophet Ibrahim prayed even during the hard times? So he sacrificed without understanding the reason why. Sometimes Allah tests us to see if we are going to depend on him or not. He completed his prayer to Allah, asking Allah to let people come to Hajar and Ismail so they would not be alone. Then Ibrahim praised Allah, thanking Him for blessing him with two sons, Ismail and Ishaq.

Can you imitate your grandfather, Prophet Ibrahim? Then Angel Gabriel descended to earth and hit the earth with his wing under Ismail’s feet so that water gushed out! People will be drinking from this water till the Day of Judgement. This place is called Zamzam. Hajar was trying to gather the water in her hands saying the words “Zamzam" (come together) in Arabic, fearing the water will finish quickly.

This is Allah’s reward for those who depend on Allah. This isn’t the only reward though; there are still many things that Allah will reward them with. While Ibrahim was taking his wife and son to Makkah, something strange happened in Yemen, and the tribes were forced to move out, looking for a new place to live that had fresh water. One of these honourable tribes was called Jorhom. While they were on their way to Syria, they discovered birds flying at a distance, so they knew that there was water there. Prophet Ibrahim’s prayers were accepted. So this tribe went to Hajar, asking her if they could stay there. She accepted but on two conditions; first to pay for the water they will take and second to teach her son Ismail.

Ismail lived with this honourable tribe, learned the Arabic language and married from them, as Prophet Mohammad will be a descendant of Prophet Ismail. That is because our Prophet Mohammad is the messenger from among the Arabs and for the whole of mankind. So it was a must that Ismail was raised in Makkah. See how Allah planned this for Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Dear anon,
Thank you very much for your eye opening comment. I appreciate and crave reminders such as this. many times I have only trust in God in everything that I do, but of course my level of trust will never be the same as that of Hajar's and the Prophets and the Sahabah. But day by day we all try..we fall back a few steps, and with reminders and God's abundant grace we move back towards the truth. Thank you again. May Allah reward you generously.
